Designed by Adidas, this shirt marked one of the most radical and memorable aesthetic revolutions in the club's history by abandoning traditional red as the main color to make way for blue. The jersey featured an imposing very dark navy blue background, spectacularly crossed on the chest by a wide red horizontal stripe framed by two thin white lines, over which the Opel sponsorship stood out. The design was completed with a two-color V-neck and the brand's three white stripes running along the sleeves. This iconic nineties armor saw the conquest of the German Cup (DFB-Pokal) and the Champions League quarterfinals, being immortalized by the goals of the mythical Italian striker Giovane Élber in his debut season, the leadership in the defense of Lothar Matthäus, the saves of the titan Oliver Kahn, the magic of Mehmet Scholl and the power of Carsten Jancker.
