Designed by Adidas for the 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign (mainly used between late 2015 and 2017), this away jersey is one of the most artistic, avant-garde and poetic pieces in the recent history of the "Blue Samurai".

The shirt featured a base of a spotless white, but its genius lay in the spectacular and icy graphic pattern that dominated the entire front. It was a textured abstraction in ice blue and light gray tones that simulated the roar of a breaking ice diamond, or the mystical reflection of snow on the Japanese landscapes. The design broke traditional molds by moving the three Adidas stripes to the sides of the torso in a deep navy blue, a color that also adorned the elegant "V" neck.

This beautiful armor of futuristic and icy tones dressed the talent and discipline of a consolidated generation in European football, immortalizing the international matches of figures such as attacking midfielder Keisuke Honda, the eternal playmaker Shinji Kagawa, the tireless full-back Yuto Nagatomo, striker Shinji Okazaki and defensive marshal Maya Yoshida.
