Designed by Adidas for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, this jersey is one of the masterpieces of contemporary design, achieving a perfect fusion of high-performance technology, traditional Japanese culture, and national pride.

The kit featured a deep Samurai blue base, but its absolute magic resided in the spectacular graphic pattern that covered the entire front. Inspired by Sashiko, a traditional Japanese stitching technique that uses white threads on indigo-dyed fabrics, the design featured thousands of small dots and lines in a lighter shade of blue, simulating the intricate textured weave of historical samurai warrior armor. The modern V-neck incorporated a vibrant flag red detail on the back, evoking the sun of the Japanese flag.

This imposing kit—officially dubbed the "Kachi-Iro" (the color of victory)—was the shield with which Japan had a memorable World Cup, becoming the only Asian team to advance to the round of 16 in that tournament. It dressed the genius of Keisuke Honda (in his last World Cup appearance), the intelligence of Shinji Kagawa, the leadership of captain Makoto Hasebe, the elegance of Takashi Inui, and the fighting spirit of full-back Yuto Nagatomo.
