Designed by Nike, this shirt is remembered for ushering in a commercial and visual change of era at the club, being the first to feature the sponsorship of SEGA (alternating with Dreamcast depending on the competition) after the historic link with JVC ended. The design featured the traditional red body with white sleeves, but stood out for the inclusion of wide navy blue stripes that ran down the sides from the armpits, as well as a modern two-tone V-neck. It was the armor with which the Gunners fought tooth and nail in one of the most closely contested Premier Leagues in history and debuted in the new Champions League format at Wembley, worn by stars such as Dennis Bergkamp, Nicolas Anelka in his explosive goal-scoring campaign, Emmanuel Petit and the rugged captain Tony Adams.
