Designed by Nike, this jersey is the direct evolution of the legendary European champion kit and is remembered with enormous nostalgia for being the attire that marked the debut of one of the most iconic sponsors in the club's history. The elastic maintained the groundbreaking and electrifying neon yellow (phosphorescent) background that identified Dortmund in the late nineties, but featured a much cleaner and more stylized design compared to the previous year: it eliminated the solid black on the shoulders to give way to elegant dynamic black lines bordering the sides and sleeves, topped with a modern V-neck.
