Designed by Umbro, this shirt is one of the great hidden gems of the nineties and an absolute cult item for being the first predominantly black shirt in the history of the Glasgow club. The jersey featured an elegant satin black background adorned with a sophisticated pattern of fine vertical lines in emerald green and white, topped with a striking crossover polo collar in the same colors and the debut of the central sponsorship of the Peoples chain of stores. This groundbreaking and avant-garde armor, which defied the chromatic tradition of the Bhoys, was worn in away matches during a tough transitional campaign, being immortalized by the immense class of midfielder John Collins, the hierarchy of eternal captain Paul McStay, the goals of Charlie Nicholas and the runs of winger Brian O'Neil.
