Designed by Umbro, this shirt had the difficult but glorious task of dressing the club in the season following the historic Treble, consolidating its absolute dominance by conquering the Premier League with a record 18-point lead. The jersey maintained the traditional red base, but featured a very elegant evolution: a white V-neck polo collar without a zipper, adorned with subtle black and red lines, and a textured white band on the shoulders with the Umbro diamonds. This shirt went down in history for sporting a special gold champions patch on the sleeve and the Sharp sponsorship (in its last season after almost two decades of partnership). It was the jersey engraved in memory for the most prolific scoring campaign of the duo Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole, the exhibitions of David Beckham, the maturity of Paul Scholes and the forceful play of Jaap Stam.
